This is a bigger and bolder version of our classic imperial stout Idjit. So, what does that make this beer then? An imperialer (it’s a word) stout? A more imperial stout? Let’s just say it’s big. Big idjit!
For a long time, almost since our very beginning, we’ve brewed our iconic imperial stout Idjit. We’ve not only brewed the regular version but barrel aged versions, putting it in everything from whisky to bourbon barrels. We’ve done a Christmas version and even a half version in which we cut the ABV down a bit. What we’ve never done (commercially) is a maxed out version. Well, until now that is. We’ve wanted to do this beer for a long time, an Idjit with extra everything. A straight forward big, bigger, biggest imperial stout. No fuss, just thick malty loveliness.

Black body, with a tiny, dark beige head.
Aroma of espresso, coffee beans, soy sauce, liquorice, dark chocolate, some dark fruits, some vanilla.
Tastes similar, with some more tobacco.
Thick, almost chewy mouthfeel, with moderate carbonation.
Finishes warming, a bit boozy, roasty, a bit dry, subtly sweet, wooden, with coffee, dark chocolate, soy sauce, tobacco, some liquorice.
Tasty. Really dense and thick stuff, while still well balanced, with the roastiness and the sweetness well dosed. Alcohol is noticeable, but not too overpowering. Rich sipper, great addition to the regular Idjit.

Pours black with brown edges. Small head. Aroma is soy sauce, smoke, dried plums and dark chocolate. Thick mouth feel. Taste is chocolate, coffee, brown sugar, soy sauce and licorice leading to a sweet and warming finish.

Draught @ Mig & Ølsnedkeren, Mejlgade 12, DK-8000 Aarhus, Denmark. [ As Dugges Big Idjit ].Clear dark black brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, dark maæt, roasted, burnt, sweet malt, light coffee. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, licorice, wood, dark malt, roasted, chocolate, alcohol. Body is medium to ful, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20171117] 8-4-8-4-16

Draft @ The Bishops Arms Vasagatan, Stockholm. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty chocolate licorice aroma. Roasted malty licorice chocolate flavor with weak hints of smoke. Has a roasted malty licorice and chocolate finish.

Solid rock! You can not get it more imperial than this.
Raven black stuff with a beige top. Nice mellow intensity in the aroma. Full body and a smooth carbonation level. Dangerously easy to drink. Well masked alcohol and perfect balanced sweetness. Dark malt, chocolate, roast, coffee and some licorice in a lovely blend.

(330ml bottle from boxbeers.dk) Pours black with a few short lived pale tan bubbles. Aroma of chocolate bar, dark burnt sugar malts, coffee, nutty roast. Flavour is moderately sweet with notes of dark malt with a sugar cane and dark caramel vibe, coffee, chocolate, moderate liquorice, a bit fruity, some toasted grains, finish has some drying alcohol and light bitterness. Quite full bodied and a touch syrupy with very low carbonation. Big malty beast that holds its own without adjuncts, perhaps I might like a bit more roast to hit another level but it's really good as is.

Bottled. A hazy brown beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma has notes of chocolate, roasted malt, and nuts. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, chocolate, and nuts, leading to a dry roasted finish.

On tap at Bishops Arms, Sundbyberg. Black with a small tan head. Aroma of coffee, dark malt, chocolate and some light peat. The same in the taste. The body was full and the finish long with warming alcohol.
