Keg @ Mikkeller & Friends. Black pour with a small dark mocha head. Pleasant balanced heavy impy nose with pleasant light spicy rye barrel. Sweet, bitter & malty. Heavy mouthfeel. (On tap @ Mikkeller and Friends, Copenhagen, May 11/17) Pours black with a tan head. Notes of dark chocolate, pretty rich sweeter dark malts with moderate to high roast, whiskey, peppery rye character, light vanilla, soft dried fruit and coffee notes, woody, with a finish that is nicely bitter, slightly burnt, lots of rye whiskey character, roasted, lingering chocolate as well, with a long aftertaste. Fairly full-bodied and oily with soft carbonation, bare touch of alcohol. Really nice rye BA stout, conveys the barrel character, I thought the roundness of the two bourbon variants were slightly more appealing but this is quite good.

Tap @ Mikkeller & Friends. Black with small beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, rye, whiskey and barrel. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, little dark fruit, whiskey, barrel, liquorice, sweet, warming and a little bitter.

On tap at Mikkeller & Friends. Black with a minimal head. Sweet with dark chocolate, oak, whisky, dried fruit and some caramel. The body was full and the finish long.

On tap @ Mikkeller & Friends. Near cola black in the glass this. No head just a thin film clinging to the sides. It smells really good. Deep dark chocolate, quite sweet, lots of sweet licorice and cocoa powder. A little alco dunsty in a good way. Whisky woody. Nice smelling. Tastes superb. Roasted and really woody charred. Throat burning at first. Chocolate thick all the way. It's full-bodied, nice and oily in the mouth and it's just below average on the prickling carbonation. Draught @ Mikkeller & Friends, Copenhagen. Pours pitch black with a small brown head. Aroma of roasty malts, coffee, chocolate, oak, wood, whisky, hints of rye, licorice, syrup and earthiness. Taste is smooth, complex and heavy with roasty malts, coffee, licorice, whisky, oak, wood, vanilla, rye and bourbon. Finish is smooth, complex, slightly sweetish and roasty with loads of wood, oak, vanilla, whisky and bourbon, some coffee, chocolate and cocoa. Well balanced and tasty.

Tiny brown shortlasting head, deep black color. Aroma is rich and sweet, dark sugar, mild sweet bourbon, dark malts, vanilla, chocolate, bark, caramel. Taste is slightly dry sour-ish mineraly, weeds, oak, boozy bourbon, minerals, bark, dark malts, sour coffee, grass, hay, paper, licorice. Medium bitterness, dry boozy - and almost watery mouthfeel compared to the lovely aroma. Nice.
