Hazy orange color. A bit fruity aroma, and malty taste, but probably too old; must try again...

(Tasted under the name "Bakkers' Gerstenat) Orange-amber colour, slight haze; fluffy, huge head. Sweet nose, warm, liqueurish and spicey (galangaroot, orange peel, mace - spices as for a male eau de toilette). As expected, bitterish-spicey taste on top of a rather sweet malt base. Taste of cinnamon bark (more taste than the aldehyde-aroma). There is a slight biscuit-oxidation in the finish (beer is sold at bakeries (bakker) and probably shelved very badly). Medium-bodied. Carbonation, spices and alcohol form the aftertaste. For a commissioned beer it would be not bad - but I thought it a labelbeer. Too sweet to be really great.

Slightly hazy, golden yellow color, nice lasting head. Spicy aroma, bit malty, oak. Fruity and malty taste, bit sour and sweet, complex. Bit like a gueuze. Bit sour palate. Odd brew.
