Dark Usher Kölsch. A German-style Kölsch, named after Poe's Fall of the House of Usher, is dark, but still of the classic Kölsch taste. It exhibits soft and subtle fruit flavors and aromas. Medium body with a smooth mouthfeel, 4.8% abv, with slight noble hop nose, that is worth falling for. It’s "Insanely Good."

Sampled as RavenBeer Dark Usher C: Head gone in seconds over clear, cola-coloured beer. 4/5 N: Black candi sugar, syrupy; old, wet autumn leaves, caramel. 6/10 T: Slight acidity, slight caramel, but hardly any sweetness. Bit cola-like. 7/10 MF: Light body, light slickness, weak carbonation. 3/5 O: Generally a bit weak. And as to a dark Kölsch… Donnerwetter! 13/20

On tap at the BNA Party last week. Deep brown color with an almost non existent head. Smells like a kolsch bready fruity pilsner but has a roasty edge that seems out of place to me.

Nothing much to this one. Pours black with ok head and lacing. Light grain. A hint of tang. Bottle.
