Huge, dense & fine, lightly cream-coloured head over quite carbonated foxy copper beer. Rich sugary nose, maltsyrup. Dark(er) malts’ aromas, with a lot of syrupiness suggested, ovomaltine. Toasted, herbal with only some sweetness backthroat - turns out completely different from what the nose suggested. Probably quite well fermented out. Malztrunk without the sweetness, but compared to a British BB, less hops and no butterscotch. Rather sharpish MF, very good carbonation, medium bodied at best, but slick. Like the taste, but not really great. A choicer pick of hops (UK... Fuggles...) might have been of benefit.
