Bottle 0,33ltr: Opaque black colored brew with an dry bitter taste and with hints of chocolate, roasted malts and some coffee.

Bière 33 cl. Belle robe sombre et trouble. Bouche bien maltée, chocolatée, mais avec en même temps une belle acidite. Pas trop sucrée. Réussie bien que je préfère les bières avec plus de corps.

Draught at Moeder Lambic Fontainas. Called Citra Stout there. Dark red/brown coloured with a small beige head. Aroma is citrus hops, slightly herbal, bit of coffee, bitter chocolate. Taste is very malty, slightly spicy, gingerbread maybe. Nice bitter finish. Not what I would expect from a Belgian beer, but very nice.

Bottle at home. Black with huge fluffy dark beige head, very lively and hard to pour. Licorice, roast, soft cheap chocolate, quite earthy, light dank hops, a bit of plastic. Just medium sweet and medium bitter. Medium bodied with oily feel. Lots of carbonation. Decent but there’s a little weird thing going on too and it has way too much carbonation.

Bouteille: As black as ink, quelle surprise, quite loose and lacy medium-sized tanned head, relatively dry and bitter toasty-roasty nose with cacao and ashy traces; dry - again - bitter flavour, light bodied, creamy MF; lingering bitter and roasty-ashy finish. Well crafted, but too brut for me...

Bottle (random shop at Brussels). Bit of a gusher! Pours black with brownish head. Aroma sour, roast, fruits, black berries. Flavor is sweet, sour, and bitter, roast, ash, chocolate, black berries. Overall: drinkable, but feels off, i don't think the sourness and gushing are intentional.

Voici un stout très intéressant, brassé à partir de Citra et Simcoe (pas forcément les houblons les plus usuels pour le style), avec une belle amertume franche (45 d'EBU), peu de sucre (renforçant l'amertume et la rendant relativement sèche) et un faible titrage alcoolique de 4,3 % (mais alcool qui est très efficace). Le résultat est quelque peu atypique mais très bien construit et original. Personnellement, ce stout n'est pas spécialement à mon goût, mais elle possède des qualités indéniables. En verre, c'est d'ailleurs très appréciable avec un noir total surmonté d'une mousse brune crémeuse et abondante. D'ailleurs l'effervescence est un peu trop poussé, ce qui pour un stout ne permet pas je trouve de bien exploiter les arômes torréfiés. L'attaque se porte sur l'amertume, sur une base chocolatée, avec une pointe de café et légèrement épicée. La deuxième, toujours portée par une fine amertume, est fruitée, conférant beaucoup de fraîcheur à la base chocolatée et caféinée. L'arrière bouche, sur le chocolat manque toutefois d'ampleur. A partir de la troisième bouche, le café s'exprime plus amplement pour un final, d'une longueur appréciable avec des arômes herbacés accompagnant notre duo café et chocolat. Même si j'ai du mal à complètement comprendre la ligne directrice, ce stout n'en reste pas moins intéressant. A tester.

Appearance: Slow gusher. Very dark brown, near black. Enormous dark tan head.
Aroma: Dark malt, roasted.
Taste: Dark malt, roasted, leather. Some hops. Not great balance.

Bottle from 2be, Bruges; shared with Anke. Pours cloudy black with a lasting, foamy, beige head that leaves lacing. The aroma contains coffee (roast), dark chocolate, fruity hops, some dark fruits & licorice, bit of smoke. It tastes medium toasty bitter, very light sour and light umami; dry, smoky finish. Medium body, slick to watery texture, fizzy carbonation. Promising aroma, rather short in taste and thin in palate.

0,33 flaske fra Belgisk Bryg, delt med Steven på hytta okt-17: kom villig ut av flasken med beige skum. Brunsvart. Innledningsvis blir aroma-og smaksinntrykkene litt skjult av overkarboneringen, men når dette roer seg kjenner jeg røstet malt, nybrent kaffe og citrustoner i deilig kombinasjon. Fin bitterhet i den tørre avslutningen. Mye smak i bare 4,3%.
