Bottle from Supervalu, Longford [031216]
Reddish brown, clear, thin off white head
Aroma of sweet caramel, soft dark fruit notes
Taste of caramel malts, getting soft roasted malts, raisin, hint of dark chocolate, slightly spicy
Palate - Very soft carb, medium body, soft bitter, some bitter roast. Finish is dry with a bitter roast linger
Overall - Tastes better when swirled to get rid of most of the carbonation

Draught Small brown head over reddish foxy beer. Coloured malts, almonds, apples, bit of caramel. Caramel - lots of it, going to toffee, oversweet. Even more almond and bitter almonds retronasal. Bit of astringency, medium bodied and slick. Not really awe-inspiring Nollaig.
