22 oz. bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of sweet oats, slight bitterness and maybe some light espresso. Flavour of espresso, slightly burnt roasted malt, and oats, with a slightly bitter finish. Very solid imp. stout.

OK. So this should technically be a different rating as they made a one off of this for Ushitora bar in Tokyo that was aged in Jim Beam bourbon barrels, but I am not going to put it here anyways. ABV came out at 9.5%. Very dark brown color, big big bourbon nose with dark chocolate, dark cherries. Med-light bodied. Butterscotch becomes more apparent in mouth along with the bourbon and dark chocolate. Rich, but too light bodied. Moderately chocolatey finish.

On Tap at the brewpub. Black with a tall dense mocha colored head that quickly recedes. Small traces of lacing. Nice aroma of moderately roasted malts. Flavor is a bit sweet and plenty of dark malts. Easy in the bitterness and nice palate. A bit of a chalkt feel. Nice offering.

Bottle pours a very dark brown/black with nary a head at all. Thin light tan ring is all it could manage. Slight lacing when tipped. Aroma was coffe and dark roast. Flavor was sharp roasted and some espresso and slightly fruity, purple grape notes. Feel was a bit thin but fairly slick. dark smokey aftertaste.

[At GABF 2004] A black beer with a disappearing brown head. The aroma is light, but contains notes of chocolate and coffee. The flavor is sweet with primary notes of chocolate, leading to a dry roasted end.
