Poured up on tap at GABF 2012 with a clear gold body that supports an off white head of foam. The aroma has a pleasing mix of smooth smoky rauch malts and malt sweetness. Alright, cool. The taste is oh yeah smooth silky smoky goodness. It goes from modest smokiness to sort of greasy bacon-y pork but it doesn’t really get anywhere near campfire smoldering ash. To midway for a moment there a get a little bit of hop bitterness and then the yummy smooth rauch-ness takes over and takes this into the finish. This is just terrific! Wow.

Draught Very carbonated deep amber beer to medium off-white head. Smoked nose, smoked vegetables, as veggies on the BBQ. Smoked ham, cured brisket on the smoker, rally worth its name. Meaty character. Medium bodied, slick, smoked notes keep lingering long. Nice, obviously styled on the Schlenkerla Lager. Not without merits.
