A traditional bock beer, using 100% Munich malt and balanced with German Hallertau hops. Pours a fiery orange-garnet color with a thick, pale-orange head. The aroma is malty with a hint of the noble German hops. Maltiness dominates the flavor, but with a very complex background of hop bitterness, floral yeast character and a very intriguing nutty quality. Very drinkable!

Poured into a pilsner glass, the appearance was a semi-ruddy burnt orange to brown color with a one finger white foamy head that leaves some light semi-foamy rings of white lace.
The aroma starts with some semi-sweet bready to smooth biscuity malts. Dosed with some light honey and cocoa butter and then hopped with some super light grassy tones.
The flavor leans to the smooth bready sweet side of those malts. The grassy hops, once again yield such a low undertone, one may think they’re barely there. Bready malt aftertaste, sheepishly sly bitterness. Mainly the breadiness in the finish.
On the palate, this one sat sat about a light to medium on the body. Fair sessionability. Moderate lager smoothness. Carbonation feels good for what it is.
Overall, decent bock for what it is. Hits the spot but doesn’t really go above and beyond, still worthy of having again.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 9/23/12
Aroma: The nose is fairly sweet, doughy, some toffee/caramel, and nutty notes
Appearance: It pours an unclear dark reddish color withg a smalle head and light lace
Flavor: The taste is much the same, leans sweet, toffee mostly, and not much hop presence
Palate: The body is light-medium, it feels somewhat sticky, with a short duration
Overall Impression: This is a decent bready and malty beer, but nothing exciting in my opinion. I certainly wouldn't rush out for it again.

Head gone; foxy-amber beer. Buttery smell, cookies, oxydation - old sample? Buttery, clearly oxydated beer. Cake, butterscotch and sweet - even syrupy. Slick, oily, medium bodied and tired. Bad sample, I fear.

Bottle. Caramel malt and raisin aroma. Clear deep amber with a small beige head. Caramel malt flavor with a faint underlying bitterness. Medium body, light carbonation. Solid, but not a stand out.

bottle - Pours clear, dark amber with a thin white head. The mild aroma is mainly of roast malt. The flavor is again mostly sweet roast malt with just a little toffee in there, but the character of the malt in this one didn’t really do it for me. It seems kind of off. I’m left with the impression of a simple, light brew that’s adequate, but that’s it.

Bottle from a sampler from Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville. Pours a strawberry read, and like all beers from this sampler, shows very little head. Spicy yeast aroma. Light texture, tart, fruity taste.
