Thin dark brown head left a blotchy cover on a black still body. Dark spirits, malt, demerara & chocolate aroma. Medium bodied, short on the palate with dry clean back. Dark chocolate, vanilla, nutty & roasted tastes with a tangy fruity finish.

From old tasting notes. Opaque black color. Creamy tan head. Rich roasted malt aroma of coffee and figs. Bittersweet roasted malt flavor hints at chocolate and treacle. Rich chewy malt aftertaste hints at tootsie rolls.

Strong chocolate nose. Pitch black, mid-sized frothy tan head, mostly diminshing, minimal lacing. Aroma roasted malts, cocoa, dark chocolate, black coffee, hint of vanilla. Smooth taste, light heavy to heavy sweet and light bitter, malty, roasty, chocolate, brown sugar. Smooth sweetbitter aftertaste, chocolate, coffee groundings, wee bit earthy, medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Rch and round sweet stout, very good.
