Cherry Adam from the Wood is aged with locally grown black cherries in oak casks for 15 months. The fruit lends a sweet tartness to the finish, melding with the wood and adding a new dimension of complexity. The 2008 bottling celebrates 15 years of business for me and was aged in Bourbon and Sherry barrels. The 2009 bottling was aged exclusively in Elijah Craig Bourbon barrels.

I have now tried three different vintages of this beer (2016, 2018, and 2020) and am currently drinking the 2020 - the cherry character is far more pronounced in younger vintages, with heavy tartness - the cherry mellows out with age and the maltiness is much more pronounced the older the beer is, making older vintages taste more like Adam, and in my view, more complex and balanced - the 2020, in particular feel thin compared to the 2018 and especially the 2016 - younger vintages taste more like a malty kriek and the older batches have more complex malty heft - my rating for the 2016 would be an 8, so that is where I will place this rating - 2018 would be a 7.7 and 2020 would be 7.4.

bottle shared with me by Fred82, thank you!
Big aroma of sweet brown sugar, and caramel malts. vanilla, and some big oak, but no cherry to speak of.
The flavor is full bodied, and big on the oak, and vanilla, some hops come through, and add a bit of resinous pine. Again, there is no cherry anywhere in here. Overall i enjoyed the beer, but its really just an oak aged adam, the cherries are nowhere to be found.

From tap at Borefts 2017. Aroma is sweet caramel malt, booze, tart ripe cherries, vinous notes, red grapes, and sherry barrel notes. Flavour is sweet and a bit sourish with some warming alcohol. Body is full. Complex and delicious.

2022 vintage. 12 oz bottle. Pours a very dark mahogany with no head. Aromas of dark fruit, dark cherries, oak, caramel and toasted malts. Flavors follow same with dusty oak and additional soft vinous notes. Slightly tart, but also malty finish. Complex.

Aromas are slightly tempered barley wine with a hint of fruit. Flavors are very much like nose, sweetheart up front with some increasing bitter towards the end. Barest hint of alcohol at the very end.

A red-brown beer, a head is small and beige. Aroma has caramel, dryed fruits of apricot, cherries, light barrel, strenght of alcohol, light roastiness. Taste has maltyness in the body, cherries, dried fruits. Medium+ bodied. Good beer, especially the aroma is great.

Bottle at the SHIG parachutes in with beavers to the Boise Crew tasting: Poured a dark black with a ring. Aroma is boosty, malty, cherry, boozy, vanilla. Taste is malty, roasty, boosty, cherry, woodsy, damn good beer. I never thought I would try this one, but BuckeyeBoy really hooked me up!
