Originally brewed by City of Cambridge in Cambridge, then contract brewed variously by Wolf, Oxfordshire, and Elgood. Brand aquired by Wolf in 2011.
A wonderfully full bodied, full flavoured Christmas beer. Deep rich copper in colour, with well balanced malt and hops, both of which are present in abundance.

Orange-amber clear beer; small yellowish head, slightly irregular. Rather sourish nose, as pickled fruits, and then dry hops and some faraway malts kick in. Surprising fresh flowery hops taste - makes me think of cask Landlord. Flavour of - bananaflower?, dried corianderleaf and faint spruce. Delicate and nice, light sourish touch intertwining with the hopbitter and a suspicion of maltsweet. Light and dry. It’s very light for a Christmas ale, but admittedly, perfect for a bottled best bitter. Can’t help but liking this a lot - thanks, MatW.
