Fluffy beige head left a covering on a dark oak coloured still body. Minimal aroma of malt & dark sugar with coffee hints. Medium bodied, average carbonation & a sparkling finish on the back. Clean on the aft. Malt tastes with a coffee presence, liquorice, smoky towards the back & nice tangy finish.

Dark, clear ruby, beige head. Light malty smell. Taste is toasted malt, nuts, chocolate. A bit nutter than I'd care for but it's not bad, there's a decent body to it and it's not lacking for taste.

Served chilled and I did enjoy it. A good dark colour in the tankard and a nice minimal head, but with lacing. Lots of toasted malts and a very nice level of bitterness. It was also surprisingly thirst quenching for such a dark beer. This is my second Meantime porter and I am becoming a fan of their rather deft touch with this beer style. I have another 3 bottles in the cupboard (a lovely gift from a friend) and I am looking forward to drinking them.

Bottle. Ruby. Small white head with beautiful lacing. Mild aroma of british hops with a touch of red berries and sourness. Taste is malts, chocolate, subdued hops and some fruitiness. Low carbonation. Mouthfeel is a little thin and watery. It’s alright but I expect something else from a Porter.

Bottle from M and S. Appearance - dark brown with red chinks. A nice off white head. Nose - chocolate, cream and light roast. Taste - some chocolate bit malt roast is definitely predominantly what’s going on. Palate - close to medium bodied with a crunchy texture and a long dry crunchy finish. Overall - I’d say this is more like a stout than a porter but maybe the old recipe is the explanation for that.

F: pale brown thin, quick gone. C: dark brown to dark red, clear. A: roasted malt, dried fruit, coffee, chocolate. T: 0,5l bottle, roasted malt, smoked tones, wood, dried fruits, mild bitterness, slick texture, medium body, average carbonated, watery but taste is better than expected as it is brewed for supermarkets chain, very drinkable.
