Yuck, earwax, puke and fishoil. Is this supposed to taste like this? Iโ€™m outta here! Backlog from 2014/04/05.

Bottle from local MaS. Rich aroma with lots of dried fruits and a hint of roast. Clear dark brown colour, small head that disappears rather quickly. The taste reveals a beer full of goodness. Aaah I hope this stays the same even after the SAB Miller acquisition of Meantime. Classic representation of style, dried fruits combine harmonically with subtle roasty chocolate notes. Very easy drinking. Very good.

Bottle. Dark brown body with a thin beige head. Light lacing. Aroma of stewed tea, copper and sultanas. Flavour of lightly roasted malt, nuts and black cherry. Thin to medium body with a smooth texture. Lively fizz. Decent, although it tastes to me like a Bitter blended with a Porter.

Bottle from M&S Cambridge Rail Station. Translucent chocolate brown with a large loose tan head. Light chocolate malt aroma. Taste is sweet, light and malt-led. Weak body. This isnโ€™t bad but itโ€™s fairly nondescript.

Bottle. Black pour, small white head. Aroma of soft chocolate malt. Taste has some milk chocolate, caramel and indeed a slight smokiness. Bit thin, but thatโ€™s normal for a 5,5 abv porter. Nice beer, better than expected.

Bottle, used mostly to make a nice cottage pie. Pours clear reddish brown with a small tan head. Aroma of caramel, malts, dark fruits and wood. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with light carbonation. Nice enough but a strange porter. Will have to wait and see how it turns out in the pie.

Bottle from Jim- cheers! Pours chestnut with a moderate beige head. Smoke, plums, treacle, gravy and cough mixture with a dry ashy aftertaste. Quite liked this one.
