Bottle from M&S, Den Haag.... Yippee! M&S are back :-) Poured a clear reddish brown with a frothy white head. The aroma is a little smoky, light fruit, malt and some yeast. The flavour is medium bitter with a smooth smoky spiced, malt , light hop bitter palate with a short bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation and a slightly oily mouthfeel. This was a very drinkable beer indeed. Very malty, nice and chewy. Deserves a higher rating IMO.

Bottle. Clear, dark red. Thick, lasting, tan head. Looks good. Light, dark, vinous fruit. Some burnt, green wood smokiness. Taste is fruity dry. A little brown sugar sweetness. Bitter finish. Nice beer, other than a slightly watery body.

Some burnt malts but also a definite hoppy note in the aroma. It’s all green hops and caramel burnt malts.

Bottle shared with jeevan. Pours clear dark brown, little head, low carbonation. Milk chocolate and coffee on the nose. Taste is sweet initially, but some roasted notes creeping in to round things off. Bit thin. OK.

50cl Bottle from M&S A’dam. Clear dark ruby-brown to black colour, light-beige head. Aroma of chocolate, some roasted malts, light-fruity, sweet coffee. Flavour is medium-sweet, malty, chocolate, light roast, nuts, light fruity bitter finish with a hint of sweetened coffee. Light-bodied. OK.

Nose is smoke, toast and slight sweet note. Taste is very sweet, with a hint cola or dr pepper, leading to a smokey middle. The finish is lasting, but is a bit like I have just toked a cola bottle. Mouthfeel is too thin for the ABV and too carbonated. Very odd sweet porter.

Bottle at Jack’s Sausage Celebration - London. Pours mostly clear brown with a moderate, frothy off-white cap. Very good stuff on the whole. Nice burnt sugars, burnt toast, some bready malts, tosted brown sugar, modest earthy bitterness. Light to medium bodied with average, creamy carbonation. Fair burnt earth bitterness on the finish, along with burnt toast and suggestions of charred cocoa. Very decent stuff.
