PALM Hop Select is a complex yet balanced top-fermentation connoisseurs’ beer with a reasonable alcohol content. Its specific hop aroma comes from the aromatic Hallertau Mittelfrüh hop variety. The carefully selected PALM yeast gives this beer its banana-like fruitiness, and the special PALM malts provide its subtle touch of caramel. Bottle conditioning ensures fine sparkling and an excellent shelf-life. PALM Hop Select undergoes hopping in three stages. An initial hopping at the start of the boiling process ensures the bitter flavour. The specific hop aroma comes from the Hallertau Mittelfrüh. This aromatic hop variety is added as a second hopping at the end of boiling and as a third hopping during dry hopping (end of fermentation), when Hallertau Mittelfrüh from our own hop field is used.

Tap at The Fiddler, Den Haag. Poured a clear medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is weak malt with a little yeast. The flavour is medium bitter with a resin hop malty palate. Not a great taste I have to say. One to avoid and I’m glad I only took a half.

(bottle, 33cl, as Palm Hop Select) Clear, golden colour with a blond medium-sized foamy head. Sweet and slightly biscuity malty aroma with citric and delicately grassy hops. Moderately sweet and slightly bitter flavour, medium bodied with a calm carbonation. Biscuity malt-character with notes of grassy and slightly herbal hops; moderately dry and quite rounded malty and hoppy finish. Nothing special, just a nice surprise. 25.VIII.13

Bottle(labelled as "Palm Hop Select"):Clear, deep golden with a stable white foam, sweetish grainy nose, some subdued dry medical hops underneath; dryish bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied and soft; more intense grassy to herbal hops in the dry bitter-malty finish. O.K., but I expected more hops…

It’s a little more interesting than the normal Palm thanks to the adding of more hops, but it’s still a boring beer.

Clear golden coloured body with a nice thick, three centimetre tall just off-white head. Aroma of sugar, light hops, yeast and some mild earthy notes. Medium-bodied; Fresh hop flavours with some yeast, coriander seed, wheat, apricots, bunches of sugars and a smooth finish. Aftertaste is nice with only a bit of the hops coming through, a well-balanced malt note, some light sugars from fruit and a bit of spice notes. Overall, another nice beer here that are seemingly in every small shop! I sampled this 33 cL bottle (labeled Hop Select) purchased from Le Bier Tempel in Bruxelles, Belgium a few hours ago on 12-August-2013 for €2,25 sampled in my hotel room here at Sainte Catherines in Bruxelles, Belgium on 12-August-2013.

Bottle @ Cafe D’n Bel, Bladel. Clear golden color, full sized thick white head that lasts for a long time and leaves nice lacing. Aroma of malts, lightly hops and a typical Belgian touch to it. Taste malts, nicely bitter, typical hallertau hop flavor. Medium body and carbonation. Not bad at all, but these hops are just so not outspoken I think a lot of people will think of the beer as being a bit boring.
