Taste from a bottle at the Colorado Springs Wine Festival. Pours a hazy yellow, with a small, bubbly, white head. The aroma is black pepper, straw, sourdough bread, and coriander. Dry and dusty, with a mild bitterness. Light to medium body, with a sugary, acidic mouthfeel. This is a nicely dry and interesting saison.

(draught) Dull orange; good white-yellowish head. Herbal, spicy, bit grassy, touch of flowers. I can taste the rosehips it is made with, plus a peppery (grains de paradis) flavour. This beer has a great balance, including a hint of sourness which suggests the oxide acidity of authentic Saison. Light to medium bodied - exactly right for Saison. Well dammit! This is the closest to real Saison I've encountered so far in the USA. And it isn't even in the database! It might have been a lucky hit, but it certainly isn't any less meriting for it.
