This Raspberry flavored ale starts as an American Wheat Beer, brewed with 40% wheat. During the secondary fermentation, we add over 300 pounds of Oregon raspberries to give this beer a tart, fruity flavor with a dry, clean finish. Perfect as an accompaniment to a sweet dessert, or for a refreshing lighter beer choice, see for yourself why Railway Razz is an award winning fruit beer

Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a dark red-plum color with a medium sized foamy beige head that left great lacing. The aroma was sweet raspberry jam. The flavor was very sweet and a bit tart with strong raspberry jam. Long sweet and tart raspberry jam finish. Medium body. Quite tasty.

Sample at 69 Taps in Akron. Wine cooler red color with a thin off-white head and very little lacing. The aroma is all raspberry, and pretty nice. Light-bodied and very bubbly with the raspberry flavor dominating all. I like fruit beers better when there is more going on than a carbonated fruit beverage flavor. The finish is sparkling and fruity. A decent summertime beer, but there are much better fruit beers available.

It's got a very nice red color (from the raspberries, of course) and a good smell. However, I was more impressed with those than the actual taste. Where the beer's not bad, it was more like drinking wine than beer; there's very little carbonation. Not bad, but not my first choice on my next trip. However, I have a friend that loves this award winning brew.

(draught) Dark brown, red shine; little rim for head. Heavy raspberry-jam nose, with somehow bready malt notes behind it. Raspberries, real ones, in the taste, nothing too sweet; surprisingly dry finish. Well-bodied, fruity, lip-smacking. Another very good USA fruitbeer. If Belgian brewers would relearn the real thing's the winner...
