Sample is a bit aged (BBd: 5/00). Orange-amber coloured. Firm yellowish head, slowly disappearing. Nose is very spicey: ginger, cloves, nutmeg, allspice, and, a bit less, cinnamon and mace. Taste is sweet and spicey. In the taste, the liquorice is dominant, even over all the other spices. Those are more retronasal; ginger, allspice, cinnamon, cloves. The sweetness is very outspoken and doesn't rhyme with the total absence of dryness. A bit flat. The spices have kept, the beer less. Of all the big spice try-outs from Grolsch, one will remember Het Kanon and Vandaag. Bazuin (Posaune) is much less convincing.
