For the re-release, we brewed with well water, Texas-grown 2-row barley, malted spelt, and Idaho 7. We fermented in stainless with our mixed culture and dry-hopped with Mandarina Bavaria, Huell Melon, and Cashmere. Unfiltered and naturally conditioned. 6.8% abv.

On tap at Big Texas Beer Fest. Pours a hazy gold with thick white head that lasts. The aroma is funk, oak, earth, floral. Thin body, wheat, funk, citrus, light finish, very good.

Bottle, batch #1 - 11.30.2015. Color: Hazy yellow golden, off-white head. Aroma: Floral, Farmhouse yeast, some hop. Taste: Floral notes, citrus hints, herbal and yeasty, moderate sweet and bitter and very light sourness, with bitterness going to a nice medium and even over medium bitterness at the finish. Dry to very dry mouthfeel. Subtle wild yeast funk. Medium body, below average carbonation. No really pronounced flavors, but 'just' a nice dry and bittery Farmhouse Ale. No plastic flavors at all in this bottle, as mentioned by previous raters. Although this beer is brewed with 'native yeast souring bacteria from the Texas Hill country' I wouldn't call this a 'Sour / Wild beer by taste, but, like stated on the label a Farmhouse Ale. Another nice low alcohol Jester King brew.

750 ml. bottle shared with many. Batch #1 01.30.2016. Hazy citrus, small white bubbles. Nose is really weird, mineral, unpleasant raw grains, spelt I suppose, corn kernels, hay as it warms up far too much plastic. Taste is unpleasant, very odd & hard to describe, extremely mineral down to the point of almost being salty, unpleasant raw grains, spelt I assume, huge plastic as it warms up, corn, low grass,... Body is plastic, carbonation is far too high. Really strange & unpleasant. Really poor Jester King affair, only their Fantôme collaboration was even worse than this one from what I have had so far.

Thnx to Ships . Pours unclear blonde , small white head. Smell is plastic, as well as DMS Taste is pure plastic. This clearly had huge issues , and should not have been released

750 ml bottle. Interesting nose of grapefruit, hay, dust. Jester’s typical wildness with nice hops. Flavor, though, is a huge band-aid. Just tons of phenolic crap. Not nice at all, really, although there are some interesting things going on behind it, with nice hops.
