Giant mocha nose, and the pour is infinite black with a dark brown head. Bittersweet chocolate on top of espresso, with a Hershey syrup backbone and a dry, clingy bitter fade. Dark cherry and raisin develop as it warms, but the finish refuses to grow cloy. Nice, but a bit boozy. Needs age. (2/2011)

On tap at Timothy’s. Black with medium beige head. Aroma is nice chocolate, medium body, light carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is dark chocolate with dry finish.

2014 Bottle at tasting, many thanks! Pours black with tan head. Lots of chocolate, roasted malt, slight coffee and vanilla. Taste follows the same with big chocolate notes, coffee, and some mild caramel beneath. Long, slightly bitter coffee finish. Very nice!

Bottle from trade. Pour black with small head. Sweet chocolate taste but it could be stronger, probably because the bottle is a bit old.

Poured from a bottle it is a dark brown with a slight head. The aroma is milk chocolate. And the taste is a sweet chocolate malty taste that lingers on the palate

February 2013 edition. Pours nearly black, small grey head. Smell is roasted malts, no unusual hints of chocolate so far. Taste is somewhat to the bitter side. Some chocolate is you drink persistently. Full body- but nothing extreme- and an average carbonation. Ok beer in total, but I am not uncommonly enthousiastic about this one

Sample at Bad Parenting Club (plus a few dirty aunt/uncles?!): NC Beer Edition on 03/28/2015. Pours a dark brown color with a medium thick foamy khaki head that diminishes gradually. Sticky patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and coffee. Full-bodied with flavors of roast malt, cocoa, coffee and mild hops. The finish is rich and slightly boozy with a mocha aftertaste. Good beer all around that I am shocked it has taken me this long to try.

65 cl bottle (9,75%) @ lusikka, ”Special release February 2014”. Thanks Jason!
Aroma has intensive chocolate tones, some sweet cocoa and hints of licorice. Flavour has dark chocolate, some tobacco, mellow ash and salty licorice tones. Rather dry palate for the style. Salty licorice tones grow stronger rather quickly and start to disturb. Nice, but I must say I expected more.
