A cocoa infused Imperial Stout – Opaque black in color with a dark brown head. Big chocolate aroma with notes of espresso, blackstrap molasses, dark sweet toffee and dark fruit. Smooth dark chocolate backbone with complex notes of coffee, dark toffee and dark fruit.

On Tap at Birch & Barley - Shows dark with coffee rims and foam The nose shows a lot of roasted malts, milk chocolate, caramel hints, molasses , and a little bit of coffee The palate shows medium body and high but even carbonation. A slight lactose sweetness, Heavy chocolate background throughout, intensely high bitterness bordering on overwhelming, pine like hoppy bitterness but with dark chocolate flavors also, extremely long finish with a lot of bitterness.

Draft pour at Lost Dog Dunn Loring. Poured a dark, thick black velvet color with an off-white head. Aroma was dark, roasted malts, chocolate malts, milk chocolate, notes. Flavor was a lot of dark caramel malt, roasted chocolate, milk chocolate, some light hop bitterness to cut through some of this. Molasses. Rich and creamy, almost seems barrel aged (wasn’t). Slightly boozy finish, it’s certainly at or near 10%. Quite good, shocked to see it on tap without much fanfare.

Draft at ChurchKey poured into a tasting snifter. Pours black with some light brown hues, light tan head with good lacing. Aromas of chocolate, light spices, vanilla, cream. Tasting notes of chocolate, caramel, dark fruit, vanilla, some roast, light booze. Full body with a warm dry finish.

Awesome, well balanced stout. Milk chocolate and slight tinge of sourness from cacao. Pours black with pretty good head and lacing. Medium bitter finish with some sweetness. A little caramel. Very good beer. Tap at Cuurchkey.

Bottle shared. Pours near black with a small beige head. Aroma of rich chocolate, light lactose, roast, toffee and some dark fruit. Flavor is moderate sweet and over moderate bitter with a little saltiness. Light full bodied with light carbonation.

Draft - Roast malts, bitter chocolate and a touch of anise. Jet black with a thin brown head. Chocolate, dark roast coffee and a dry bitter finish. Nice but not what I expected.
