Machete is an eye-catching Double IPA with an overwhelming but balanced aromatic explosion. Hops emerge in a decisive, powerful and imperious way, triumphing over everything and giving beer hints of grapefruit and tropical fruit.

33 0 ml bottle. Pours an orange brown with medium head that disipates quickly. Strong aromas of pine and grapefruit. Very similar flavors with full malty mouthfeel and light bitter finish. Nice.

Bottled 330ml (Bierkompass, BB 07/2013)
Slightly hazy amber color, good cloudy off-white head, lace. Piney, a bit yeasty aroma. Medium-bodied. Sweetish front, grapefruity, resiny, fruity lingering bitterness in the aftertaste. Nice "easy to sip" double IPA.

12 oz. bottle, pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma of pungent tropical fruits, with grapefruit, mango, and pineapple, and a touch of paint thinner. Flavour is quite muffled and muted, with citrus hops, pineapple, mango, and some biscuity malts to back. Too muffled for the flavour to be excellent, but decent enough.

Draft - Hoppy bitterness on the nose along either some malt sweetness. Very cloudy gold with a thin persistent head. Syrup bitter and sweet. A bit of both extremes and a ton if bricks on the palate. Not for me.

Mostly chewy. Soft body and herbal hops, but far too chewy with crystal malt. Unappetizing, it crushes the hops.

08/12/2011 La Tana (tap). Ambrata intensa, arancia, schiuma leggera, crespa, poco persistente. Corpo medio, buona carbonazione. Facile da bere, non lascia il segno.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours a cloudy amber with a small off-white head. Heavy hop aroma, quite some citrusy hops. Solid body, sweet malts and fruit but heavily oxidized, a little licorice all sorts and a rather bitter finish. There’s quite some US aroma hops in there, but they’re not really crispy and fresh. Bitter finish. 251111
