Machete is an eye-catching Double IPA with an overwhelming but balanced aromatic explosion. Hops emerge in a decisive, powerful and imperious way, triumphing over everything and giving beer hints of grapefruit and tropical fruit.

Bottle shared in the train. Hazy dark golden with lasting fluffy white head. Grapefruit, spruce, very herbal and soft skunky marihuana. Way more dank green notes than fruits, but with a nice oily citrus touch that makes it still quite fresh. Medium sweet with medium bitterness. Medium bodied with slight sugary feel. Quite nice.

Tap @ Speakeasy, Tallinn. Pours amber with beige head. The head stays forever. Aroma is sweet, pine, berries, caramel and some cat piss. Flavor is sweet, and bitter, caramel, fruits, citrus, pine, malt. Finish is mild, but long pine bitter. Carbonation is very low. Alcohol is well covered. Overall: I enjoyed this one, although the keg wasn’t clearly very fresh.

On tap at Tallinn Craft Beer Weekend. Clear golden with a white head. Moderate hoppy and more grassy and herbal than expected. dome fruity notes too and moderate caramel notes, hints of citrus. Medium sweet with somewhat mild hoppy flavours and a moderate bitterness. Decent stuff, but not right up my alley.

Tap. Italian Job, Chiswick. Clear gold. Film of sticky, white head. Lovely, sweet, dank resin on the nose. Some orange, and a distinct, sweet, pink grapefruit element to it. Taste is sticky sweet, turning light bitter. Fairly rich. A tad of dry for good measure. Soft, sticky lipped palate. Finishes moderate bitter. Good stuff, but I could have managed more bitterness to balance the sweetness out.

Bottle bought in Rome and brought back to UK. Poured a hazy golden orange colour with a thin off-white head. Very nice aroma with a good level of hop, citrus, grapefruit and caramel malt. Medium sweet, with a bitterness to finish. Slickness to texture. Quite low carbonation. Very good beer.
