Bouteille 341ml. Couleur orangée transclucide, mousse beige aérienne, légèrement huileuse. Arôme de houblon résineux, pamplemousse, malt, alcool. Goût de houblon résineux, caramel, alcool, longue amertume et sucre en fin de bouche. Carbonation faible, corps moyen. Un peu trop sucré pour moi.

(347mL bottle from LCBO) A clear pale amber beer with a small white head that left a lot of lace. Aroma is lemon and orange peel, flowery hops, grainy caramel malts, slight herbal soap? Reminds me a fair bit of iced tea, for some reason. On the palate, orange leads into fairly sweet caramel malts, bready, complex, bit of pine, citrus juice and a particular flavour of candy I can’t place as the hops start to take over with a slightly floral, tinny and astringent quality. Finishes dry, lightly bitter and, again, rather like an iced tea. I can’t seem to shake that reference throughout the beer. Body is moderate, slightly oily, carb soft, booze hidden. It’s not bad, but doesn’t have the big hop aromas or bitterness of a great DIPA. Very balanced, interesting malts, a little more English than west coast - quite DDC I guess!

Dégustée en fût sur place. de couleur ambrée et voilée. Nez de houblon floral, moyennement résineux avec des notes terreuses, de caramel sucré, de fruits (agrumes), léger d’épices (poivre) avec des notes d’alcool. Moyennement ronde en bouche et moyennement pétillante avec une texture un peu huileuse. Goût moyen-amer de houblon floral, moyennement résineux et aux notes citriques (pamplemousse, une amertume qui dure toute la gorgée) avec un léger goût fruité (agrumes, traces de pêches) lors de l’entrée en bouche suivi d’un goût de grains de malt sucré, de caramel sucré, ainsi que quelques notes de pain puis en finale l’on retrouve un goût d’alcool moyen et légèrement réchauffant ainsi que des notes épicées (poivre doux) en plus d’un regain d’amertume houblonnée (plus herbeuse). Post-goût long et sec, moyennement amer d’alcool et de houblon floral, résineux et aux notes citriques avec des notes fruitées (zeste d’agrumes). (été 2006)

12oz bottle scored via trade with pushkinwow. Could be an older bottle, but that doesn’t usually bother me too much with these malt forward DIPAs. Pours a hazy orange with some creamy, lacing white head. Nose of tropical fruits, candy sugar, pineapple, orange peel, a little leather, pine wood shavings, soap. Flavor is sweet, malty, orange, soapy, pine, tropical fruit, candy sugar. Full, sticky finish. Not the freshest, but still tasty.

Aroma is sweet with exotic fruits, gooseberry bush and fruit sugar. Flavour is sweet with exotic fruits, some fruit sugar, caramel malt and hints of alcohol. Rather typical American‐style DIPA – and too sweet for me.

Bottled 05/2012 - Pours dark orange with a small head. Aroma of dark fruits, hints of gooseberries, biscuity malts, caramel and fruity hops. Taste is extremely malty with notes of biscuits, bread, caramel and hints of fruity hops. Finish is malty and biscuity with hints of caramel and fruity hops. Overly malty, quite unbalanced IIPA.

Bottle - Strong floral and citrus hops, with a bit of liquor. Clear golden amber with a rich thick head. Taste is surprisingly sweet, almost sickeningly so. Hop taste is there but bitterness is actually masked by the caramel and malt sweetness. Rich on the palate, and of course as is normal for a Dieu du Ciel a yeasty/liquor taste in the finish. Too sweet for me, but a great way to get people into a floral IPA.

341mL bottle, pours a pretty clear copper orange with a small white head. Aroma is full of floral hops, a bit of grassy notes, backed by a generous portion of cracker / biscuity malt. Flavour is dominated by candied sugar, caramel malt sweetness, and finally some floral hops. Finishes semi-bitter and quite sweet, with some alcohol notes. Subpar for the style, and certainly for Dieu du Ciel.

Bottle @ Matt’s house, courtesy of pushkinwow. Well, this has been on a Fedex truck for over three weeks, so it may be fucked. Fairly hazy, orangish appearance with an off white head. Pretty dull, a bit boozy, rich malty, moderate caramel, light citrusy aroma. Fairly dull hoppy, toasty malty, light caramel, earthy, floral flavor. Too bad but it’s fucked now.

Fruity and wonderful. Not sure why not just a normal IPA. There is some apple-juiciness. Strong profile here. On tap at DDC.
