Black beer with good head. Aroma is quite mild with exotic fruits and roast. Taste has exotic fruits, roast, malts and toffee. The end is bitter with grapes. Dry and sour end. Very special mixture of everything.

0.33 l bottle from ’Biermuda’ as ’Emelisse BIPA’, best before December 2017. Clear, very dark brown to black with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish, fruity-resiny and slightly roasty aroma of tropical fruits, pine and dark chocolate. Sweetish, roasty-malty, fruity-resiny and a bit soapy taste of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, tangerine, mango, orange and some pine, followed by a medium long, rather roasty-bitter, slightly resiny finish. Medium to full body, creamy, slick mouthfeel, average carbonation. Very tasty! Great, intense hop profile and really pleasant mouthfeel, well-balanced.

Bottle at home. Very dark caramel-brown pour with a very tall tan head with excellent retention.Notes of roasted malts, pine resin, orange peel, chocolate, coffee. Very well balanced, smooth mouthfeel, medium body, low carbonation and a roasty and hoppy bitter-sweet finish. --- Beer aliased from original tick of Black IPA on 13 Aug 2016 at 18:06 - Score:

Bottle from Denman Spirits, Vancouver
Dark amber color, small head. Mild malt aroma, with light fruity esters. Good body strength; more malty than roasty, moderately sweet, with an aggressive resiny hopping.
Good beer, not the expected Black IPA, rather a strong and well hopped American Amber.

deep dark brown colour, huge, long lasting creamy beige head; aroma of coffee, fruity-resiny hops, cocoa powder and some earhy, maybe leather notes; taste is rather dominated by roastedness (coffee and grains) with moderate fruity-resiny hoppyness; would be perfect if the roastedness in the taste dominated less the taste...anyway, it is still good
