The original Jessenhofke beer, which later became Jessenhofke Tripel and eventually Jessenhofke TRPL. Uses garlic.
Drink matig doch regelmatig.

Bottled (BB 11/2010). Courtesy of bierkoning, ty Edo! Slightly hazy orange color, small white head, some lace. Fruity and herbal aroma, when you know it is garlic, you can trace it. Decent carbonation. Quite spicey. There is some mango fruityness and cardboardish notes, but flavor is dominated by pepper, citrus and herbs. Garlic is notable in the aftertaste. Alcoholic too. Oily-plastic mouthfeel in the aftertaste. Interesting spiced up brew.

Bottled@One Pint Pub, Helsinki. Hazy golden colour, mediumsized whie head. Aroma is caramel, hops, some yeast and alot of fruity notes. Flavour is quite attacking Belgian blonde with spices and fruits. Flavour and aftertaste is kinda garlic if you know what to look for.

Bottle. Blonde, hazy. Yeast, clove and a hint of garlic in the aroma and flavor. Hints of citrus and alcohol. Flowery hops. Tasty beer, but a bit too spicy for my taste.

(Draught at Ölbaren, Copenhagen, 13 Feb 2009) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, spicy nose with tropical fruit, apples and citrus. Fruity taste with notes of tropical fruit, spices and fresh grass. Slightly above medium body, slightly sweet and yeasty. I’ve no notes of garlic, so I suppose it’s fairly well hidden (thank you). Nice and spicy Belgian blond, not straying too far from the middle of the road.

Bottle, 75cl at the Belgian Embassy. It poured a slightly unclear, golden body, with a small, white head. Herbal, grassy aroma with a touch of garlic, leaving the malt in the far back. There’s some malty sweetness in the flavor, but it’s mostly like the aroma, herbal and grassy. The garlic is more evident in the mouth. Medium body. The finish has a nice bitterness. I’ve heard horror-stories about homebrew with garlic. Well, this one proves it is certainly possible to make a nice beer with garlic. What is really annoying is that I didn’t understand that it was garlic until the company representative told me so. Then suddenly all pieces fell in place. I figure a well-seasoned and well-garliced leg of lamb would be a nice treat with this one. Rating: 6-3-7-3-14-3.3. 080410
Bottle, at Oud Arsenaal. A golden one, unclear, and topped by a finger-thick off-white head leaving lacings. The aroma has a nice herbal touch, with pale malts, sugar and citrus fruityness. Quite dry on the palate, with sugary sweetness, pale malt notes and a touch of citrus and bitterness. A bit sweet, but really nice anyway. 110429

330 ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, golden body with a small, dense white head. Moderate aroma of malt and a hint of spices. Flavor is fruity, malty with a hint of spices. Well balanced, not particular sweet and nothing indicating the high alcohol level. I’m found of garlic, but had a big trouble identifying this flavor. Nice, but to anonymous.
