19 September 2020. At Umami, Santa Maria degli Angeli. Shared with the lovely Anke! Clear dark golden, stable, small, frothy, white head. Aroma of biscuit, peanut, breadcrust, mango, banana, white grape, melon, faint butter. Taste has sweetish orange, mango & apple, bitter pepper & clove on a bready-honey malty base; ends grassy hoppy, slightly floral with yeast, low esters & warming rum-like alcohol. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. Decent Tripel.

28.01.2015, 0,5l bottle shared with ClubGonzo & friends:
Small bubbly shortlasting head. Aroma is kind of strange, wet grain, yeast, sugar, almond essence, grass, alcohol, bark, weeds. Taste is harsh, weeds, alcohol, sugar, bark, grass, minerals, hay, leafs. Little bitterness, harsh mineraly mouthfeel. Crap!

Bottle, brought to me by my lovely choir chaps who use the nickname "frate fuoco" for me and got this from a trip to Italy - Thanks! Pours unclear amber with a big but shortly existing head and fast running lacing. Aroma is sugar glacing, raisin, dark dried fruit, and some alcohol. Body is heavy and sweet, yet a bit low on flavours. Sugar and honey, little herbs, glacing again, some warming booze, with a smooth but strong carbonation. Yet something feels off, like some greens in there. Sweet palate, unsurprisingly, and strong throughout at 8,5%. Not bad, but not great either.
