Can shared at home. Pours jet black with brownish head. Nose is coffee and dark chocolate, a touch of smoke. Taste is pretty much the same, big on dark chocolate and dark malts, there's some smoke in there as well. Coses with coffeeish, roasty finish, has medium to full, dry body, feels thicker than the 7.5% ABVs. Tasty.

Can at De Drie Dorstige Herten, Utrecht. Nice roasted malt aroma with coffee, chocolate, some mocha. Moderate to medium sweet with a moderate bitterness. Above medium body. Rich and roasty, very tasty.

Draught@Pikkulintu, Ruttopuisto. Black colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is sweet and roasted malts with some coffee, mild chocolaty and dried fruits. Flavour is roasted malts, some liquorice, chocolaty and coffeeish tones with a gentle dried fruity touch as well as some floral hoppiness. High drinkability, and though a bit high on the hops for a stout, hops are still not taking over, but instead being quite a gentle addition of flavours to the profile.

Backlog 28/11/2020; CO 28/08/2019, BB 28/08/2021, 440ml can, Batch 648; Purchased at the Godec Pub, Ljubljana, Slovenia
APPEARANCE: deep dark, black-ish color, mocca brown fluffy and fairly compact head, quite lasting with solid lacing on the glass
AROMA: loads of toasted bread and bread crust, barley coffee, oatmeal, smooth roast bitterness on the nose, impressions of buckwheat pops, bitter chocolate, notes of berries/blueberry, expected restrained sweetness for the style (mild toasted sugars, brown), herbal note on the edges, subtle smoke, umami vibe
TASTE: smooth carbonation, slightly creamy & oily mouthfeel, slick feel, medium full body; gentle brown sugar sweetness to begin with, cut by firm and strong roast bitterness, burnt bread crust, chicory, barley coffee, high cocoa dark chocolate, low dried fruits on the edges; lasting and lingering bitterness with dry finish
OVERALL: great execution of the style; not for faint-hearted in terms of roast bitterness;

Can at home in Hackney - picked up via Trembling Madness online. Pours deep brown with a frothy, beige head. Good, sturdy stout, with nice ashy roast, bitter dark chocolate, salty burnt wood, earth, a little charred bacon perhaps. Medium bodied with fine carbonation and oily texture. Finishes with more ashy roast, a little burnt rubber, baking cocoa, nips of warmth. Really solid.

Can at home picked up from Beer Ritz. An oily thick black brown coloured pour with a loose dark tan head. Aroma is rich earthy fruit cake, ashy roast, burnt cake, treacle. Little farmyard on the nose as well. flavour is composed of sweet, cakey malts, tangy dried fruit, treacle, ginger cake. Earthy oily roast. hints of ash. Palate is full and velvety, oily, tang, lowish carbonation. Lingering big bold fruit cake. Very good. Packs huge flavour for 7.4% Sticky finish.

Can. Black with an inch of brown head. Aroma of roast behind mocha, some earth and pears. Oily, low carbonation. Lovely chocolate with roast, coffee and light spices. At first I thought I wanted more bitterness but the slight lean to dry at the end and the realisation that the chocolate isn’t that sweet makes it sit better and better.
