11.16 oz. bottle, pours orangey amber with a small, almost non-existent head. Light aroma of caramel, toasted malt and nuts. Flavour is heavy on the rye bready malt, with sweet caramel, apple juice, and, hate to say it, but a sort of gasoline-y quality. Sweet, alcoholic finish. Not so good.

Copperbrown beer with a quite weak and blond head. Aroma is toffeeish and malty, red berries and alcohol is hidden. Taste is full and malty, toffee, some red berries, enough of bitterness that balanced sweetness.Full bodied and slightly sticky to drink, nice. Quite balanced, easy barley wine, not top quality, but still nothing to complain.

Hazy amber beer, residual off white head. Softish palate, semi dry, slightly syrupy. Rich malt but doesn’t have huge depth like some barleywines. Bubblegum and banana flavours develop and become quite prominent in the aftertaste. Well buried orangey hop toward the finish. A little bitterness creeping in as well. Interesting but slightly messy barleywine. Would like to age one of these for a bit - think it would age nicely.

Bottled. Poured reddish copper color with a thin head. Aroma is heavy malty, quite sweet fruitcake and some alcohol. Flavor is sweet malty, alcohol warmth and hops. sweet finish with bit too much alcohol. Still quite pleasant despite the alcohol.

Bottled (from Alko, Vaasa). Rubyish amber colour with a mediumsized beige head. Aroma is caramel malts, toffee, quite sweet alcohol as some very sweet fruity and floral hops. Flavour is sweet malts, some alcohol, fruity and floral hops, mild toffee and also some rather grassy hops towards the finish. Quite much burning alcohol and riped fruits in the aftertaste.

First Snowfall of the Season tasting in Odense. Amber with a small white head. Weak aroma of malt and dried fruit, but the first thing I noticed was an odd, cheese-like off-note. Fruity flavour with strong alcohol and a raw bitterness. Toffee and biscuit maltiness in the aftertaste

Bottle from Monument in Concord, CA. 10.5% Pours hazy copper with a 3 finger foamy off-white head. Aroma is a little fruity barnyard. Medium body. Lightly foamy carbonation. Flavor is herby brown sugar. Not at all sticky. Seems like herby hop is keeping things towards bitter. Not your mother’s bw. Works well in the mouth. Flavors shift around fruity/grassy.
