Draught Good, stable off-white head over orange-coppery beer with a light haze. Grains, malty, faintly toasted and spiced. Bitter, but not hoppy! Tastes like Cynar or other vegetable bitter liqueur. Long-lasting bitterness. Well-bodied, very slick to oily, warming throatfeel. This is not an IPA IMO, it’s just a very bitter beer. Wrong hops.

Bottle shared by Kostja at Rating Session 14.04.10. Thanks! Orange unclear body and creamy head. Orange, spices, apricot, sundried tomatoes, cardamom and apple. Very complex and tasty. I also like the bottle and the label design.

Bottle. Pours hazy dark caramel, with an enormous head. Aroma is toffee, caramel as well as tropical fruits, with peach and orange. Full body, with very soft carbonation. Flavour is sweet with yeast and grain, and a lot of hops adding sharp bitter citrus to the yeast, giving a long almost astringent fruity finish.

Pours hazy amber with a lasting head.Nose shows Belgian phenols, herbal and spicy notes, sweet light malt and floral hops.Very bold flavours, with sweet malt dominating before the sharp piny hops and alcohol take over. The phenols add some depth.Body feels thick. Not enough carbonation.

Bottled. Pours a hazy amber color with a large creamy white head. Good head retention. Aroma of herbal hops, apples and citrus. Almost cidery. The taste is herbal notes, pale malts, earth, floral notes and strawberries. Medium bodied. Nice beer.

Bottle from Domus Birrae. Clear, deep gold with an enormous, rocky head. Fragrant, herbal hop aroma, grassy with dry lemon. Light malt, some retronasal alcohol. Sweet and bready flavor, biscuit, rich malt, pears, with grassy, hay-like hops and dry citrus. Sweet, but not overly so. Extremely bitter and dry in the finish. Alcohol just a bit too evident. Smooth and full, rather strong carbonation. Tasty, characterful. A top class tripel for sure. Gets a bit sweeter and mosre estery with the yeast added to the glass.

Bottle courtesy of Larsniclas shared at tasting. Pours hazy golden with a huge frothy white head that slowly dissipates while leaving lots of trace and lacing on the glass. Smell is sweet with tropical fruits, yeasty esters, grass, lemon balm and yeasty dough. Taste is slightly sweet, tiny bitter and slightly sour with pineapple, lemon juice, pine, grass, passionfruit and hints of bread. Mouthfeel is round and medium bodied. finish is slightly sweet, slightly bitter and tiny sour with passion fruit, pineapple and grass.

Bottle at home. Hazy light brown colour. A lot of fruity sweetness in the nose along with grains which reminds me of pasta. Slightly aromas of vanilla. Mild flavours but rich, with grapefruit, yeast, spices and some malt sweetness. Medium bitterness and somewhat a dry ending. A good tripel with nice flavours.

14/12/2011 La Tana (tap) & 330ml bottle @home. Ambrata, chiara, limpida, schiuma biancastra non molto persistente. Aroma intenso agrumato, erbaceo, floreale, lieviti, malto, note fruttate. In bocca ha un attacco tipico da tripel e un finale fortemente luppolato da IPA, raggiungendo un mirabile equilibrio. Corpo medio, carbonazione corretta. Un delle migliori e più originali birre italiane.
