Kronenbourg 1664 is the most sold French beer in the world and the market leader for high-end premium beers. It was named after the year the Hatt family, the founders of Kronenbourg, first started commercial brewing. Kronenbourg is the fifth oldest beer brand in the world that still exists today.

Its golden hues and delicate bitterness come from selecting the best hops, the 'Strisselspalt', and the unique know-how of Kronenbourg’s master brewers for over 300 years.

25 cl. bottle @ St. Bonnet, bought @ intermarche St Armand. Clear golden with a white head. Noble hops aroma with some sweet malt. Bittersweet taste with a bitter finish. Quite tasty too be honest.

660ml bottle @ 5%. Pours a moderate-light gold with an average carbonation. Strong malt aroma with corn. Taste of watery corn sugar syrup. A slight hoppy bitter note at the end. The alcohol and body of the beer holds strong so not an easy to drink lager but would be a good palate cleanser to spicy food.

Draught pint at Crowne Plaza Toulouse bar. A bright and clean golden pour with some quickly vanishing snow-white head. Aroma is very low: hints of soap, and that's a fault, tinges of butter'n'bread, reminiscences of iron. Unexpectedly, in the sip it proves itself more full-bodied than foreseen, but it's otherwise rather dull and short-lived, in my very humble opinion. Easy to drink, easier to forget.
