0.5l bottle. Pours a near black body with a solid brown head. Nose is surprisingly grassy with good amount of chocolate, some thin coffee and nice sweet roasted notes. Full-bodied and low carbonation. Tastes fist quite sweet before it turns hopy, roasted and smoked flavors then the chocolate and mocha kicks in. Long chocolate flavors combined with a really nice fruitiness. Really smooth and quite nice!

500mL bottle, pours dark brown / black with a small tan head. Aroma of licorice, molasses and maple syrup. Flavour of licorice, roasted malt, molasses, syrup and a little soy sauce resemblance. Very interesting and solid.

10 cl. sample from bottle at DØE tasting - 10 "best" new danish beers 2010. "Very black" beer with a nice chocolate coloured head. The aroma is chocolate, licorice and roasted malts. The flavor is likewise chocolate, licorice and roasted malts with some bitter notes. Very nice palate with bitterness and roasted notes. A great beer with a good balance and complexity in taste and aroma. One of my favorites at this tasting.

Bottle. A black beer topped by a finger-thick, dense, light tan head that stays. Licorice, chocolate and some coffee on the nose. Silghtly meaty. Some hops, but the malty aromas dominates. Not much evidence of the alcohol. It’s a bit thin on the palate, pleasant carbonation. The flavor is on the dark side, chocolate, licorice and a touch of coffee. Low on hoppy bitterness and alcohol. Long finish with licorice and roasted malts. A nice beer that doesn’t go the whole hogg. It’s tasteful but a bit thin, and sort of one-dimensional. 110219

Black with a dark brown head. Aroma is sweet, heavy roasted malt, burnt and hoppy. Flavor is rather sweet and rather hoppy. Bitter, dry and roasted finish. Soft and smooth. Very good. This got my vote in round two of the 2010 DØE new Danish beer of the year. 141010

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a collapsing dark brown head. The aroma has strong notes of roasted malt, soy sauce, and alcohol, as well as lighter notes of smoke. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, soy sauce, tar, and smoke, leading to a dry roasted finish.
