Rating #6600: Dark brown coloured body with a great opaque pure black glow and a thinnish, one to two centimetre tall light brown head. Amazing aroma of raspberries, roasted malt, raisins, prunes, light tart cherries and citrus and a good super strong raspberry scent. Medium-bodied; Rich raspberry flavour with a nice tart and slightly soured flavour showing a touch of lemons and limes and ending with a robust roasted malt and light oatmeal flavour. Aftertaste is pure smooth and tart raspberries with a good flavour and rich complexity with some nice light sugars, a good roasted malt flavour that is on the light side and a robust raspberry and fruit flavour that hits all the right notes. Overall, a great and very interesting beer with the raspberry notes and a touch of the roasted malt and oatmeal, where if you had your eyes closed, you might even think this was a Berliner Weisse. Great to sample, especially at a 'milestone' rating. Great to sample and well worth trying to find if you like Fruit Beers, Sours, Porters or really anything at all! I sampled this 50 cL bottle purchased from New Beer Distributors in New York, New York on 10-June-2017 for US$11,25 sampled at home on the Eastern Shore of Virginia in Pungoteague, Virginia on 27-January-2018.
