Flaske fra Holmens importkoffert, og delt med Ovesen: klar klar gylden med tett skum i sedvanlig belgisk stil. Nokså beskjeden aroma (kløver og gress), smaken er lett bitter med antydning til engelsk appelsinmarmelade. Fin munnfylde og avrunding.

Bottle shared with JMD at HNB 25.05.15. Clear straw colour. White head and lacing. Aroma of Belgian yeast, dried fruit and spices. Similar taste, with evident bitterness and tropical fruits. Slightly astringent aftertaste.

Bottle at Moeder Lambic SG. It pours hazy golden with a decent white head. The nose is soft, juicy, fruity, apricot, peach and passion fruit. The crisp, bitter, minerals, doughy, passion fruit, apricot, zesty, grassy bitterness, candy and a touch of pepper with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Well rounded and pretty tasty stuff.

Pours slightly hazy golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, yeast, herbal and dried fruits. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long herbal and yeasty finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle. Almost clear in the glass, golden in color and with a small but fine off-white head. It’s grassy and piney on the nose, with some peppery notes and yeast hints. It’s medium bodied and pleasantly carbonated, quite dry. Peppery, piney flavor with resins and some pine cones. A nice bitterness too, although there’s a little harsh, herbal touch in the very end. Easy drinkable and pleasant. 150328

Goldenes Bier mit einer ordentlichen weißen Schaumkrone und viel Kohlensäure. Geruch leicht hefig, fruchtig malzig, würzig. Geschmack sehr malzig, leicht getreidig, Honig, würzig, hefig.

Bottled. Hazy orangeish golden colour with a mediumsized white head. Aroma is citrus, some yeast, mild spices as well as some herbal and quite caramelly notes. Flavour is citrus, some zest, yeast, caramel, bread and mild grainy notes. The yeast gives it a nice kick, but at the same time the beer remains a bit thin.

Hoppy Belgian blonde with below average ABV. Thinnish but dense, lacing, snow white head over a deep golden blonde beer with good fizz and minuscule yeast particles floating around, hazy. Aroma of grapefruit, chicory, white bread, orange peel, yoghurt, green apple, unripe green plums, freshly cut grass, starfruit, soap, orange juice. Fruity taste but in a restrained kind of way, unripe stonefruit and green apple peel, some natural lemony acidity, yeasty, smooth and soft mouthfeel with minerally carbonation, dryish palate, spicy notes smoothly giving way to a minerally and sourish finish in which drying grassy and somewhat citrussy hops abound, bitter honey and grapefruit. Very quenching and refreshing, I’d say this is a typical example of the ’blond bitter’ style of Belgian ales, in the league of XX Bitter, Bink Blond or even Westvleteren Blond. The intention being to avoid American citrus-flavouring hops, they did a good job at achieving exactly the same effect with European hops. Stuff to think about, though I am all for American hoppiness.

From tap at Ma Che Siete, Rome. Clear golden orange color with white head. Funky yeasty, citrusy fruity and light malty aroma. Taste is sweet and light bitter. Almost medium body, oily with soft carbonation.

Draft at Ma Che Siete Venuti A Fa, Rome. Pours hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of yeast, fruits, citrus and light herbs. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with light carbonation.
