Mõrkjas, linnaseline, natuke hapukas ja "medicinal", kuiv, alks, suht tummine. Suht selline vana koolikas, ma tavaliset kurdan, et asjad on liiga magusad, aga siin võiks tõrts magusust küll lisaks olla (nt. burbooni vaniljet või px-i veinist magusust..)

Bottle (2013) vintage shared by WillRunForBeer--thanks, Brian! It's a clear, amber brown with thin ring of off-white head and no lacing. Aroma is strong caramel and mild dishrag. Taste is strong, sweet caramel and a grainy, hay-like character. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with thin texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, this is just beyond its prime so hard to know what it should be in its heyday.

On tap at Fakin Zagreb. Unclear brownish coloured, small off-white head, malty caramel nose. Sweet malty, caramel, dried fruits, mild nutty and quite sugary with noticable alcohol in the finish. Slightly sticky as well.

I tap at Fakin craft bar, Zagreb. Shared with Marko. Deep dark amber, small lasting beige head. Sticky malty, syrupy, fruity aroma profile. Honey, spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg, gingerbread, orange zest. Dark caramel. Rich, complex. Herbal notes emerge. Medium body, sticky texture, gentle, alcohol hidden. Caramel candy, toffee, dried fruit, black pepper, honey, herbal bitterness ranging from basil to orange zest. Has everything you need and expect.

Tap at Fakin. Misty ruby body, creamy off white head. Raisins and flowery notes, lovely aroma, underlying caramel. Smooth, fresh taste, caramel, red fruit, raisins and flowers, avoids being soapy, perfumey in a good way. Very well hidden alcohol, some barrel-like touches, subtle oxidation, but excellent overall!

Apparently I never had the original. Quite a solid barleywine, of the American style. Bunch of hops, some bitterness, fairly dry and lots of malt. Clearly a heavy one, pretty damn boozy beer. Enjoyable, but not that exciting.
