20/01/2024: 355ml bottle again, bought at the same time as my original rating below (never did drink it the following Christmas as I intended). Still really impressed by this despite being 7+ years past its BBD. I think the coffee has faded a little but there's still enough here to warrant being styled as a "coffee stout", plenty of chocolate, bourbon, vanilla too. As of 2025 I don't think I'd rate it quite so highly as I did back then but even so its longevity is impressive.

16/04/2017: 355ml bottle at 11.9% ABV. Pours black with a tan head, surprisingly good retention for the ABV. Aroma is very rich - chocolate, roasted coffee, vanilla, bourbon oaky notes and alcohol. Taste is also rich and complex, lovely sweet chocolate and bitter roasted coffee flavours, big hit of vanilla, nice oaky bourbon notes and a lovely warming sensation given by the alcohol, treacle, biscuity malt, some dark fruit. Full bodied, soft carbonation, lovely silky smooth mouthfeel. This is a fantastic beer. It gets a ton of hype and I think it just about lives up to it. I have another bottle of this which I will age and drink later in the year, probably at Christmas, we’ll see if it gets better...

Really well-balanced bourbon, cacao nib and coffee with some vanilla as it warms up alongside milk chocolate. Body a tad thin but still rad.
