Double Chocolate Coffee Oatmeal Stout

The coffee lover’s consummate beer. Brewed with an abundance of flaked oats, bitter and imported chocolates, and two types of coffee, this stout has an intense fresh-roasted java nose topped with a frothy, cinnamon-colored head that goes forever.

Great stout, great body. But a little to highly hopped for my preference. Tastes great on nitro. Perfect for someone who likes stouts and ipas. Willows SF. (April 2017) It is way more complex and flavourful than the abv would have you think possible. Firm balanced bitterness. Yeah nice and dry, lots of roast coffee. Albert heijn Amsterdam

Strong roasted aroma. Black color, medium brown head. Strong bitterness with light sweetness, some sour notes. Full body, slick texture.

Bottle 355ml. Black with beige, large head. Chocolate and coffee in aroma with roasty note behind. Coffee with medium to high, roasty, long in time bitterness. Light body like for ris, even a bit watery, a bit sweet with ashy, very long aftertaste, not so nice. Beer is ok but after Kentucky Breakfast I expected much more.

2017-01-18. On tap at Elizabeth Station. Pours an almost black with a dark beige head. Aroma is cold coffee with milk. Taste is pretty the same. Very good stuff, like you are really drinking coffee.

2017-03-24. 355ml bottle (thx, Yannick P.). Bottled on 2014-05-29. Pours an almost black with a dark beige head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate and some slight grainy and green pepper notes. Taste is chocolate and coffee. Still very nice despite the age.

Bottle from Total Wine & More, St. Petersburg. Black/brown with a full khaki/tan head. Coffee, coffee, coffee aroma offset by chocolate malt and black grape notes. Big sweet taste complete with oatmeal and malt but there is a wonderful tempering hop note in the background. Long boozy finish. Dulce de leche and chocolate porridge in the aftertaste. I’m not the biggest fan of coffee-laden stouts but this is a notable and worthy exception.

Noice black body minimal head but they pour it that way. Very heavy coffee aroma on this thing, in fact all coffee, you could switch it out for coffee in the morning and holy crap maybe that is the point, mind blown. Pshzhzhzhzhzhzh. Nice and light filtered coffee flavour again with no layering and thin surprisingly so it tastes like coffee. No idea that this has eight plus percent booze in it. As a novelty it is dayummm guuud.
