Schramm’s Heritage Raspberry is a cousin to our standard Raspberry melomel, made exclusively with Heritage raspberries, the same variety used in Schramm’s The Heart of Darkness. Grown and loved by the Schramm family for generations, we were able to find a high-quality commercial source for these berries that took us back to picking them off the bushes in Grandpa Schramm’s backyard. Yesterday with white chocolate mousse, raspberry and tyrkisk peber. Might be batch 1 since I managed to mix up my bottles a few years ago and the stamps are blurry. Date stamp says 2017 though.

Sampled from bottle and shared. Intense red fruit aroma with a lot of red fruit. Heavy.

Mmm, honey. Excellent melomel, with tons of fruit. Lots of wood going on, giving it something dry between all the sweetness. Raspberries there, super jammy. Sweet and thick to the extreme. So much flavour. I do like good meads, in small amount.
