Golden naked oats mashed with dark crystal and robust roasted malts create a luscious black brew with a satin smooth finish. Layering UK Target hops in the boil adds a pleasant, earthy complexity while higher fermentation temperatures enhance the overall flavor with fruity esters. An old-world style, done the Green Flash way. Big, bold, flavorful and complex – Double Stout.

Bottle, 13C. Black with an inch of tan head that fades to a coat. Aroma of dark toffee, prunes, coffee, burnt toast, mocha. Taste has treacle sweetness, roasted and burnt flavours, mocha, vanilla. Dryish finish with creeping bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel. Straightforward and good.

Purchased at Hyde Park Wine & Spirits in Cincinnati, OH; enjoyed on a pleasant Friday night while my lady is out at a bachelorette party. Appearance is a thick pitch black with a very frothy dark tan head, laces to the glass, looks purdy. Aroma heavy on the chocolate and roasted malts, hint of bitterness from a coffee / hop mixture, maybe a small bit of licorice aroma in there as well, it smells good. Taste also very good, very smooth and creamy, not overtly sweet, coffee comes out a bit more in the back end mixed with the roast & chocolate, I’m not getting the ’fruity esters’ as the marketing description says, but it is a very good brew. Very solid.

Bottle shared at Klooster. Pours black, bubbly beige head with low retention. Aroma is mild coffee, chocolate and roast malts. Flavour has same aspects but with a caramel sweetness and some licorice. Nice easy drinking, not too extreme stout.

0.65l bottle @ Baran, Bergen. Pours a pitch black body with a nice creamy caramel head leaving good lacing. Aroma is nice and roasty with some coffee, a sour oaky wood-note that I like, light vanilla, some salty peaty tar and a little burned toast. Full-bodied, has an oily to creamy texture and it's softly carbonated. Punch some good espresso coffee in the first sip along with a little ash, mild vanilla and some good roasted caramel. It's also somehow slightly dry. Mild warming aftertaste and a nice roasted finish makes this a really good stout. Green flash really knows what they are doing.

12oz bottle pours an oily, opaque black with some off white head. Nose is boozy, sweet, licorice, jelly beans, malts, toasted bread. Flavors of cherry, coffee liqueur, malts, licorice. Very sugary. Full bodied, sticky finish. Still very young.

12 oz bottle. Pours a pitch black/extremely dark brown color - no light goes through it. Creamy, rich brown head. Aroma was chocolate malts, roasted. Flavor was a great deal of dark chocolates, roasted malts, caramel, touch of brandy. Solid.

On tap at Petrol Station. Pours a dark brown with a small diminishing light tan head. The aroma is a roasted malt cherry and alcohol. Thin mouthfeel with a bitter malt with cherry and chocolate. Alcohol present, a good Imperial stout from Green Flash.
