Golden naked oats mashed with dark crystal and robust roasted malts create a luscious black brew with a satin smooth finish. Layering UK Target hops in the boil adds a pleasant, earthy complexity while higher fermentation temperatures enhance the overall flavor with fruity esters. An old-world style, done the Green Flash way. Big, bold, flavorful and complex – Double Stout.

Pours black with a quickly dissipating tan head. Nose is roasted barley and cocoa powder. Taste is very powdery, light roasted barley, mostly thin cocoa and ever so slight alcohol burn. It’s a tasty stout, but a little thin for a double.

It’s a very good, no frills strong stout. This beer doesn’t try to do anything fancy. The appearance is simple, black liquid and brown creamy head. Chocolate, coffee and roasted malt flavors are strong in the beer’s aroma. The flavor is rich and just nails my notion of the style. I’m not saying that it’s my very favorite stout, but it’s a superbly made stout. The feel is excellent, creamy and smooth.

bottle - Pours black with a two finger tan head. It has a rich chocolate malt aroma. Nice. The flavor is sweet roast malt and dark chocolate with underlying hops bitterness and some coffee notes. This brew is full bodied with some bitterness in the dry finish. Good stuff. Closer to an imperial stout than a regular stout, IMO...

Bomber. Big, frothy brown head, mostly lasting. Body is opaque black. Malts dominate the aroma of roasted, molassis, dark chocolate and smoke. Hint of resin ad alcohol. The flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic and lightly bitter. It finishes moderately sweet, lightly acidic and moderately bitter. Medium to full body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. Great balance between sweet and bitter, though the sweet malts are dominant. Slight metalic taste in the finish, but overall a rich flavor and mouthfeel. Warming alcohol is subdued enough not to turn boozy. Excellent beer.
