Golden naked oats mashed with dark crystal and robust roasted malts create a luscious black brew with a satin smooth finish. Layering UK Target hops in the boil adds a pleasant, earthy complexity while higher fermentation temperatures enhance the overall flavor with fruity esters. An old-world style, done the Green Flash way. Big, bold, flavorful and complex – Double Stout.

2016-02-19, draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver, 7-4-7-4-14=36
Black color with brown creamy head. Mild aroma of roasted nuts. Robust flavor of roasted nuts, some rye bread, light tobacco and vanilla, nice alcohol warmth; good body strength, moderately sweet, and a bit over carbonated. Also, a bit too much acidity from the roasted malts.
Very good.
2012-10-16, draught at Aces & Ales, Las Vegas, 7-4-8-4-16=39
Pitch black color with creamy head. The aroma of roasted malt is mild, and has some cheesy yeast too. Good body strength, rich chocolate flavor, strong bitterness. Very good one.
2009-06-12, bottle, blind tasting at Papsø’s, 6-3-8-4-15=36
Black color; medium creamy head. Roasted malt aroma, strangely metallic. Good body, strong roasted malt flavor but supported by some sweetness, still overall the flavor is dry; it has some roasted nuts too; it gets rounder and sweeter later. Quite good but not impressive.

bottle, pours black, medium dark tan head. Roasted malt and coffee nose. Roasted, burnt patent malt body that is so full and diverse, ends nice and roasty with some chocolate and light smoke. This is a solid RIS that is so damn drinkable.
