Golden naked oats mashed with dark crystal and robust roasted malts create a luscious black brew with a satin smooth finish. Layering UK Target hops in the boil adds a pleasant, earthy complexity while higher fermentation temperatures enhance the overall flavor with fruity esters. An old-world style, done the Green Flash way. Big, bold, flavorful and complex – Double Stout.

Bouteille 22oz.

Opaque dark brown beer, tidy tan head. Palate is slightly soft but with fresh minerally carbonation. Nice rich malt with well balanced licorice and coffee flavours. Malt cream. Nice stout!

Can thanks to Stawn, thanks man! A longtime want. Pours a deep jet black color with a medium beige head. A sweet nose of chocolate, especially dark chocolate and roast. A very good flavor: metal, roast, dark fruit, cocoa, biscuit, some sour cherry, a bit of milk, cocoa. Exactly on the style. Frankly, this surprises me how well and on point this is for such a great style. Have a Guinness FES, this is close and just as good. Lingering metal and caramel.

12 ounce bottle. Pours black and dense. Topped by a thick rocky tan head that leaves lot’s of clinging lace. Faint roasted malt aroma with hints of chocolate and spicy hops. Rich creamy roasted malt flavor that is balanced nicely by resiny hops. Tasty coffee and cream nuances mix with the complex dried fruit character to produce a wonderful and tasty stout.

A black beer with a creamy and beige head. Aroma of roastiness, ryebread and sourness, some chocolate and liquirice. Taste is stongly roasted, then also smooth chocolate and some liquirice. Full bodied, smooth and nice to drink. Lots of roastiness with ryebread, quite similar than Sinebrychoff Koff Porter.

Pitch black coloured body with a slightly soapy thick, four centimetre tall deep dark brown body - very nice indeed. Aroma of milk, cherries, anise, roasted malt, oak, tons of vanilla and somehow heaps of roasted malt and oatmeal - nice smells. Full-bodied; Deep roasted malt flavour with some oak, peat, nuts and a ton of vanilla and milk making this one really linger and feel like a syrup. Aftertaste is showing all the complex flavours with the malts, earthiness, oak and especially caramel sweetness really coming out. Overall, a super pungent and perhaps one of the thicker beers I’ve ever sampled - and it worked very well for this one. Definitely worth trying if you can find it, and save it for a cool winter night - this one isn’t a quick drink! I sampled this slightly stubby twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in Tustin, California on 03-February-2012 for US$2.09 sampled at home in Washington on 08-January-2013.
