Bottle, 0.355l, at Kitty’s, Helsinki. Red colour with nice foamy head. Aroma and flavour is malts, flowers, citrus and hoppiness. Unfortunately too watery for me.

Bottle at home (BOE) - 29/09/12. Pours a hazy amber brown with reddish hues topped with a thin bubbly off-white head. Caramel and biscuit malts dominate the nose. Hop forward taste, caramel, a little tropical fruit, sugars. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation levels with a dry finish. Alcohol level is well disguised and I’d have guessed at 5% not 7 !

Pours cloudy deep amber with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, citrus and grape, Taste is medium sweet and light to medium bitter with a long caramel and fruity finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Pours a cloudy coppery brown with a sticky off-white head. Some floaties. Crisp pine resin aroma. Great bitter brew with lots of juicy malt to support the hops. Very nicely done. Not an Amber Ale, this is IPA and a good one, regardless of it’s color.

Bottle: Poured a deep amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some very good lacing. Aroma of earthy hops with some citrus and resin is quite nice. Taste is totally dominated by hops with some resin and citrus hops though notes of earthy hops are really powerful. Body is quite full with good carbonation. Not bad though grapefruit notes of Amarillo were not as dominant as I had expected.

Hop head red Bottle @ The Rover. Pours tiny hazy amberish red with a big frothy offwhite head that slowly dissipates while leaving some thick lacing on the glass. Smell is sweet, malty and hoppy with caramel, orange peal, fresh grass, peaches, unripe mango, winegums, pine and very subtle hints of paint thinner. Taste is slightly sweet, bitter, very tiny sour, slightly malty, hoppy, slightly herbal and tiny fruity with bread, pine, caramel, orange peal, grapefruit rinds, resinous wood, moist earth, unripe tropical fruits and straw. Mouthfeel is smooth, round, tiny oily bitter and medium bodied. Finish is tiny sweet, bitter and slightly herbal with caramel, grass, orange peal, pine, wood and unripe peaches. Very nice. Especially for an amber ale.

Bottle shared at the molen monthly tasting. Decent white head. Lively hoppy aroma. Red clear pour. Nice hoppy aftertaste. Yummy

Tasty west coast red ale, with a mean hoppy streak that still lets the malts shine. Caramel and toffee crash up against piney, herbal hops, resulting in a sweet beer with a bone-dry finish. Lovely dichotomy. Easygoing carbonation helps as well, letting the sweetness settle a bit before the hops scours it away. Spicy, malty, yet with a prolonged hop-resin fade, this beer covers all the bases a hoppy red should. A shining example of the style.
