From a 355ml bottle on 18/5/2012. Pours a cloudy red amber with some yeasty chunks and biggish head. Has lots of caramel and toffee on the nose, along with some floral and fruity hops. The aroma translates across to the flavour, with a big caramel and toffee malt base, stone fruit (particularly apricots), and oodles of hoppy goodness, as well as some nutty notes. A beautifully balanced and impressive brew.

This is a hop lovers dream. I’m sure there are those out there that would even prefer more hops than this, but with the addition of the malt foundation, this is just one of the best versions of the style.

Bottle. Pours reddish amber with a medium off-white head. Wonderful aroma hops, primarily citrus but some pine as well. Taste is hop-dominated, with grapefruit flavors and a nice bitterness that hits quickly and lasts through the finish. Some malt notes, but clearly taking a backseat in this beer. This is a good beer - my only question is why is it not classified an IPA? 70 IPU and a hop-dominated presence, this beer seems misclassified to me.

1/V/2012 - 1Pt. 6Fl. Oz. bottle @ home - BB: n/a (2012-455) Thanks to Jeremy for the bottle!

Clear deep copper red to red brown beer, creamy light beige head, fairly stable, adhesive. Aroma: very lovely fruitiness, sweet caramel, floral (honey), mango, bit piny. MF: good carbon, medium body. Taste: slick start, sweet ripe fruits, some honey, then a nice floral bitterness, touch of mocha, caramel. Aftertaste: little bit of grapefruit, cocoa powder, very dry and bitter ending, lots of resin, piny bitterness.

Aroma: Huge peach and lychee aromas. Cedar and pine notes.

Appearance: Hazy, amber red body with flecks of yeast visible. Big off-white head that lasts. Virtually no carbonation. Excellent lacing.

Taste: Sweet fruit and light caramel. Lots of hops, but somehow the taste is very soft - it definitely doesn’t seem like 7% ABV and it’s not as bitter as the hop aromas suggest.

Palate: Light to medium bodied. Slick mouthfeel. Flat carbonation.

Overall: Incredible aroma from the addition of dry hops. A very hoppy beer, but lacking in bitterness and bite.

Refrigerated bottle labeled 6.4% abv through trade from JStax, poured into a shaker. Pours opaque crimson with a good amount of suspended yeast with dull off-white head. Nice thin lacing, medium/thick body, medium carbonation, and nice hop aroma. Taste is rich caramel malt and long bitter hop finish. Pretty good for the style, but I won’t seek this one out.

Pours copper with a fading head.Nose shows masses of hops with juicy, fruity flavours alongside fruit confectionery. Peach, green apple, lychee and gooseberries. Underneath is caramel and faint toasty malt. Nice stuff!Similar fruity hops in the flavours at first, with more peach followed by a massive grapefruit hit. A fair bit of crystal is present underneath.Carbonation could be a little creamier.

Bottle @ home. Deep red/copper appearance with a three finger, foamy, light brown head. Big piney, resiny hoppy, toasty malty, appetizing aroma. Big piney, actually fairly grapefruity/citrusy flavor with a toasty caramel flavor. Citrusy, piney finish aftertaste. One of the best "hoppy" amber ales that I’ve had...Quite enjoyable.

bottle from Bierkompass. Hazy amber colour, large off white to beige head. Lovely hop aroma. Solid malty base, lots of intensively resiny hop flavours, shy lemony hints as well. Delicious.
