This is our take on a double IPA. Although some would consider it somewhat ‘Belgian’ in its malt and yeast profile, we definitely crammed in all the juicy, fruity and fresh hops that any hophead could possibly wish for.

With Elliot, we tried to create a refreshing beer that’s dangerously drinkable while still maintaining that unxious mouthfeel that Struise is so renowned for. Being able to either quaffed or sipped, this is one of our most versatile multi-purpose beers.

330 ml bottle. Translucent copper pour has a small bubbly beige head. Earthy, woody, yeasty malt nose is complex and intriguing. Subtle, yet earthy roasted malt flavor. Notes of plum, mushrooms, overly roasted walnuts, currants and herbal hops. The hops are subtle, yet complex. Warming alcohol notes as well. Not your typical DIPA, though very enjoyable.

130 IBU. Hazy reddish amber. Thin cream coloured head. Aroma is caramel, honey, rye bread, apple, hay and some alcohol. Taste is rye bread, orange, honey, grass, apple. Holds up well even though the hops are mellowed out by age.

At the Alvinne Craft Beer Festival in Vichte-Belgium with markoijelana. Ciao. Pours orange hazy, off-white head. Nose: amber caramel malts, mild citrus notes. Mouth: a bit too aggressively bitter, malty in a way but not that terrific.

Vintage 2013, SM No. 12 The beer is fruity and fresh. Slightly grainy. Not too deep, nice floral fresh aftertaste with slightly sourish hints. Bitter-fresh aftertaste. Nice, fresh-bitter, for the 9% highly drinkable. Nice.
