Buffalo Belgian Stout is een echte stout: donkerbruin en voorzien van een crèmekleurig schuimlaagje. De geur varieert van kruidig, over biscuit en alcoholzoet naar fruit. De smaak van dit bier van 9% abv verhoudt zich mooi tussen zoet en koffiebitter. De afdronk houdt vast aan koffietoetsen en vloeit zoet uit.

Bottle at home .... OH my when i opened and poured this it ,fizzed just like a coke.... Deep black ... no head just like a coke ... woody roast malt nose ... over fizzy just like a coke ... but the flavour not at all coke like ... its much more like VIMTO ... with just a bit of roast chocolate malt added. bottle at de garre ... deep brown ... thin tan head ... sweet toffee cherry roast nose ... light fizz ... chewy toffee malts ... light bitter ... light chocolate... less now its cold ... but stic3.0

The color is almost black; very big head. Very light caramel aroma. Good body, chocolate flavor, missing bitterness (just a bit from some roasted malt); unfortunately the metallic finish is disturbing. An Abbey beer, on the simple side.

bottle @ Toone, Brussels. pours black, beige head. Aroma, reminded me of Rodenbach because of the fruit elements and the prickly aromas, has some malt caramel notes with some cherries. Taste, medium carbonation, roasted malts with some light dark fruits, light in body, definitely a different approach to a stout. Light fruits, some cherries, currants with some very faint hints of tartness some yeast elements as well. Smooth and very easy to drink, doesn’t like a 9% beer.

Bottle at Delirium Cafe. Pours dark brown with a creamy beige head and lacings. Sour, earthy and light dusty nose. Taste is dusty with some cherries, earth & mild roast. Smooth and medium palate. A bit roast and chocolate as the beer warms up. OK

33cl bottle from Dranken Geers. Black, thin beige head. Not much of a stout aroma, more of a Belgian estery aroma. It has some choc in the flavour in the middle. Really not very much of a stout. Some dark malts. As I say, not much of a stout, but ok as a vaguely dark malt drink.

Pitch black with a low tan head and a roasty, liquorice aroma. Flavor is sweet, burnt, with liquorice, caramel, and brown sugar. It has a strange, slightly unpleasant aftertaste. The interest here, though, is the mouth feel. Thin, yet unbelievably bubbly, seemingly exploding in the mouth, then moving to a rich, smooth feeling. The carbonation makes it feel thicker. One of the most original beers I have had in a long time.

2007 Bottle at Capital Ale House - Downtown on 05/11/2009. Clear dark brown body with ruby highlights. Sugary and fruity aroma with some faint roastiness. Sweet sugary, fruity flavor with some chocolate, roast, and a bit of caramel. Medium body with moderately high carbonation.

(Draught at St. Urho’s Pub Porter Days ’09) Very deep brown. Small white head. Fruity and roasty aroma. Full bodied palate with little carbonation. Fruitiness, roastedness, bitterness, some spiciness, sweetness and liquorice in taste. Liquorice and bitterness in aftertaste.
