A special twist on the Finnish style Sahti, brewed at Nøgne Ø in cooperation between Dugges Brewery, Sweden, and Nøgne Ø of Norway. Brewed with rye and wheat, sea wormwood from the Swedish archipelago, juniper twigs from the Norwegian forests, honey from heather flowers in Telemark and three selected yeast strains from Belgium, Germany and Britain, and of course, some malt and hops too.

Cloudy dark brown. Nose of honey, tea, juniper and hops. Taste is cloying, lots of honey, some maple syrup and tea. All over a grain alcohol body. Hard to drink.

Pours murky dark amber/brown with a large whit head.Nose show masses of really floral honey, distinct spicy juniper and sweet caramel malt. No hint of the alcohol so far. Pretty awesome, but a bit full on with the honey. The flavours really hit hard, with loads of sweet malt, honey, alcohol and herbal astringency. Nice, interesting, but a bit boozy.Creamy carbonation, but could be higher to help cut through the sweetness.

Bottle shared by Marcus. Pours a slightly hazy amber with a decent near-white head. Smells of honey and evergreen. Almost perfumey. Medium body with foamy carbonation. Flavor is rather Belgian style - herbs, spice, honey/sugar - but very well balanced. Very good and flavorful.

Bright golden color with little to no head and no noticeable lacing. Aroma of honey and malt, some light spice in the background, resin and pine. Honey taste is ubiquitous, but it’s not overly sweet. Spices are mostly subtle and noticeable in the finish. Body is good for a beer based on honey. This is my first foray into the world of Sahti, so I have nothing to compare it to. So I guess I can honestly say that this is the best Sahti I have ever tasted in my whole life. Of course, it’s also the worst. Good enough to make me want to try more.

Pours hazy amber color with minimal off white head. Fruity aroma with a weird smell I can’t describe. Sweet flavor of fruits, wheat and honey with some alcohol coming through. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Not bad, but not really my thing.
