It is hardly a secret that we at the Amager Brewery have a deep rooted love for Imperial Stouts - the noblest of all beers. In fact, we are constantly in the process of developing new variations of this fine beverage, this variation has eight malts and three hops. We are particularly proud to present what we feel is the king of hops: Zeus.
Amager Imperial Stout is a beer as black as mortal sin , crowned with the densest and most creamy light brown head. The coffee and chocolate accents are very distinct, but they come exclusively from the malt, while the aroma is rich with vanilla.
Amager Imperial Stout is in all respects a fierce beer for the more demanding and experienced beer drinkers who are not afraid to challenge their senses.
Ingredients: Water, barley malt, wheat malt, oats, brown sugar, hops and yeast

Bottle, #66. Immediately after popping the cap, aromas of sweet chocolate and coffee escapes the bottle, along with a touch of vanilla. The beer pours black, with a thick, dense tan head leaving nice lacings. When examining the aroma more thoroughly, it confirms the first impression of chocolate, coffee, sweetness and some vanilla. Dark malts and hoppy aromas blend nicely in. Even though itβs quite sweet, it has a dryness in the mouth, along with some warmth from the alcohol. Sure full-bodied, and thereβs lots of flavors in it, sugar, coffee, chocolate, roasted malt, some vanilla, piney hops and lots of hoppy bitterness coming stronger and stronger towards the very end. Coffee-like bitterness and sweetness also follows you until the end, making it a balanced beer considering itβs IBU-level. Itβs a lovely beer, but I would like it a bit drier. (081005)

Courtesy of after4ever. Pours vary dark brown with nice mocha head. The mild aroma carries notes of roasted malts, chocolate and toffee to start and then moving toward sweet black grapes and a touch of toastiness. The taste is much the same with smooth even roasty malts, burnt malts and dark chocolate. It remains this way to the finish where it ends very dry with burnt malts and coffee and the associated astringency.

Almost opaque extremely dark brown/black body with a dark ochre-brown head. Agrumey hops (orange) with some coffeeish maltiness in the nose. Strong agrumey (orange again) hop bitterness owns the taste ending grapeseed-like and going to a lightly dulled down but oh so present strong bitter finish/aftertaste. Thick, tarry and chocolatey malty base, again softened by the hop assault. A pleasant hop oriented IS from what’s probably my favorite Danish brewery.

0.5L bottle, thanks roei. Thick creamy lacing light brown head, opaque balck colour with some beautiful lighter brown taints on the rim of the beer. Aroma of cocoa, milk chocolate, herbal hoppiness and yeast and all encompased by a vinous scent. Taste of strong roasted coffee, extrenely dark bitter chocolate and some barnyard notes at the end. Full bodied but not overbearing, aftertaste is long with a light lingering bitterness. Only one word to discribe the experience - WOW!!!
